wantlist / road trip

I was inspired by summer weather + Penny Weight’s road trip to create a wantlist that was all about road trips. They’ve been a big part of my life since my family tends to opt for driving everywhere rather flying. I’ve driven the long way through Montana at least four times and let me tell you, that’s one long state. I especially remember the trip we took as a family 6 years ago with my aunt + cousins to Seattle for a family reunion. We all piled into a conversion van and drove through National Parks and made many stops for Wendy’s frostys + nuggets along the way. There are so many memories from that trip that I will cherish forever.

When I think about driving cross country, I believe it’s best to keep things simple, which is reflected in the items above. I just bought these Salt Water Sandals a few weeks back and have been breaking them in for France. They are super comfy and affordable, too!! Awesome. Plus, some sort of camera is a must … it’s especially fun when you can get your hands on a vintage one for those fun shots. You can browse the rest of everything below :

Hopefully it’s warm enough here for sandals! I’ve still been wearing my boots, and today I wore a sweater but still was too cold walking to work. :( Now I’m craving a good ‘ol summer road trip! Or just some sun and a little bit of warmth.

  2. Hanna says:

Sounds like a great trip you are describing! And I’ve also followed the Pennyweight roadtrip on Instagram as well, something I definitely want to do once it’s a little warmer this summer.

I’ve just purchased and received my Everlane weekender and it’s very, very roomy. Can’t wait to use it on a short trip! Would you say that Salt Water sandals are suitable for long walks in the city?

    • breanna says:

Oh man! I really really want to get that weekender bag, glad to hear you think it’s roomy!! Up next on my “to get” list, for real.

As for Salt Waters, I think you could walk around a city in them. I’ve heard of people who have walked all day in them and not had a problem. The furthest I’ve gotten in mine so far is 3 miles and the bottoms of my feet felt a little raw, but that was my second time wearing them. Since, I’ve worn them a lot more and they’ve almost become a part of my feet, ha!! Definitely worth a try and much better than “fashionable” sandals I own.

  4. That film camera looks totally rad. While I mainly shoot digital, there is something about film that is so special.

I took your and Vanessa’s advice and ordered the saltwaters for my Paris trip too, they are so comfy! And cute too :)

    • breanna says:

That’s awesome!! I was having the hardest time finding fashionable sandals that would kill the feet. I think these are the solution. :) :)

  7. Beth says:

I love these picks! I’m working on my summer wardrobe this weekend. It’s time!

  8. Ah! I wish those sandals weren’t out of stock ]: Perf

  9. Ooh this is making me long for a summer road trip now (shame we’re heading into winter over in Australia… !). What I remember most about my family road trips are the strange car games I used to make up with my siblings – when I think back on it now it’s amazing how creative we were!
