for bloggers / favorite web fonts

It’s been awhile since my last web font roundup. You can see the previous two here & here. Being that I design a lot of websites, I’ve dug even further into google web fonts and have found some more goodies to share with you guys! I stumbled upon Monsterrat last week and absolutely fell in love with the bold weight of it all, especially in caps. A great one for headers. As for serif fonts, Playfair Display is a definite bookmark. I know, first hand, how hard it is to find a good ( + free ) display serif that has contrasting line thicknesses. Plus, how cool is that ampersand? Yeah. The good news is that ALL of these fonts are free and available on google web fonts, which makes everybody’s day just a little bit easier. You can check them out below :

montserrat / old standard / open sans / sail / playfair display / copse

I love it when you post webfonts, best thing ever! That playfair design is awesome. I was recently looking for a serif font like this for a clients logo. We were going to incorporate it on the website too and it was really though to find something.
So sexy but those serifs are soo hard to read on screen!

Loving every single one of these fonts <3

  6. Sarah says:

Love Copse and Open Sans. I wish they’d make a less narrow version – I always go back to century gothic even though the kerning is terrible.

  7. I love this! Always needing new shnazy fonts ;)

  8. I adore this feature! It combines my love of type with my love of web development. Webfonts have been the best thing to happen to development in the past few years. Thank you for sharing!

Love these posts! Open Sans has been my go-to font for a while. So much that I made a New Year’s resolution to not use it so much! Not doing too well on my resolution so far (its so versatile!)
