wear cake / breanna rose

I’m happy to share with you guys a branding + web project I worked on quite awhile ago for Wear Cake. Although it’s just starting out as a blog, Anna plans on expanding her business for Petite women one day, which I couldn’t be more excited to see grow! We started with branding, which you can see above. It’s a very flowy + feminine aesthetic paired with simplicity. And then there’s the blog : I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever worked on a website with a dark background, but man did I love it. I accepted the challenge, ran with it, and had so much fun! You can visit the end result right here. A special thanks to Tom Wilz for coding this one!

I had the pleasure of working with one of my favorite local photographers ( and past client ) – Athena Pelton – on her new lookbook! Luckily, I also happen to know and share an affinity for donuts with her. So basically, not only is she talented, but also pretty cool in my book. Her aesthetic is very nature heavy, which I personally love + admire. So working on this lookbook was an absolute treat. So many trees. So much goodness.

These are just a few of the spreads, but you can see the entire lookbook below via issuu! Scroll through and let me know what some of your favorite spreads are. I’m loving the subtle touches of glitter here and there. We will be updating her existing brand + website to match sometime in the near future, so look out for that as well! Thanks, Athena, for taking such beautiful photographs for me to play with!!

chic moodboard / breanna rose

Oh, I just love it when I feel in step with a client. This moodboard is so modern, simple, and RIGHT up my alley. I couldn’t be more excited! I actually already got started last week and am having so much fun playing with some of my favorite type of fonts : contrasty serifs & thin sans serifs. Those two always make a good combo, they should date. Also, how cool is the dude in the top left of this board? Digging his style. And as usual, I’ll make sure to share with you the final product once we get there! We have an entire branding + website to get through, first.

dribbble favorites

I picked out these dribbble favorites this week because I was really digging all the colors. Plus, it’s interesting how work from completely different designers can look wonderfully consistent together. Sometimes I like challenging myself and make sure all the shots I pick out look cohesive. Like these or those. It’s an eye pleasing exercise! Does that make me nerdy?? Oh well. Thanks for being inspiring as always, dribbz.

breanna rose / getting into it

You know that feeling late on a Sunday evening where the Monday blues slowly creep up? You realize your weekend sped by & you’d give anything for just one more day to relax. Last night, I couldn’t escape those thoughts and woke up just the same, so I needed to do a little exercise before digging into my workload. I scrolled through my most recent pins and pulled out like-minded images. These ones happen to feature botanicals and/or plants, some of my favorite things as they breathe life into any space. As a designer, it’s always fun playing with type, color, & shape – especially when it’s just for fun with no boundaries. We all need that every once in awhile, right?? So here is what I came up with. And now, onto the workload!
